Pattern stories: Kesälä
Nostalgic colors and decorative flowers delight in spring nightgowns and loungewear. The Kesälä pattern was designed by Laura Gröndahl. The pattern was named after the beloved summer house of the designer's family.
"I make a lot of floral and nature-themed patterns, and my camera is usually full of pictures of plants and flowers. I used to live next to a big flower shop and I often went there to photograph and buy flowers when I was making patterns."
"Often, before starting a new pattern collection, I buy a big bouquet of flowers and then I just draw and paint them and everything else without any other destination. After that, my office is normally flooded with paper and sketches."
"Kesälä kuosi is named after our family's beloved summer cottage.
Our Kesälä is the most important place in the world to me."
